The following day we trek to Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar - 3,400m.(11,150ft).
A further days acclimatisation, with a trip to Sagamartha National Park Headquarters.
The following 3 days mean harder work, we go on to Tyangboche and then to Dingboche, which is at 4,350m. With a well earned rest and acclimatisation on day 10, we are ready for the final section to Base Camp.
On 21st, day 11, we move on to Lobuje and to Everest Base Camp - 5,280m (17300ft) and overnight in Gorak Shep.

Returning back down to Katmandu over the next few days and back to the UK on 28th February (Dave's 60th Birthday!)
So why I hear you ask? Dave & Rich are doing the trek as a Charity Challenge. They are paying for the trip themselves but also raising money for 2 charities.
We all know someone who has had cancer, the startling fact is one in three of us will still get cancer at some point in our lives, so there’s much more that Cancer Research needs to do. Survival rates have doubled in the last forty years and they’ve been at the heart of that progress.Their vital work, funded entirely by the public, will mean that many more people will survive.
Motor neurone disease is an awful debilitating disease, with at present no cure. Sufferers can go from an active life, to being wheelchair bound and unable to speak in a matter of months. There’s no cure because scientists are still working hard to understand the cause of MND. With dedicated research effective treatments and a cure will be possible – and that costs money.
Please give generously to these 2 causes via the Virginmoneygiving website.
